21-year old entrepreneur launches new children's footwear business.

21-year-old footwear mogul Alex Curavo, of Toledo, officially announced the launch one of the most ambitious children's footwear ventures to date. My Kids Feet currently features nine major brands of kids' shoes, with plans to add up to four more by the end of the year.

"This is a very exciting day for us," said Alex Curavo, founder of My Kids Feet. "We have been testing various children's footwear concepts on a smaller scale for nearly a year now, and this is the culmination of that research."

To succeed, My Kids Feet will have to successfully compete against more seasoned online footwear retailers, including billion-dollar footwear giant Zappos and Gap, Inc.'s Piperlime. "We know that they have us beat on variety, at least for now, but unlike the larger one-size-fits-all internet retailers, we have the opportunity to create a niche market for quality children's footwear at an affordable price," said Curavo. "Our biggest challenge is helping our customers find us, but once they find us, we are confident that our fashionable selection, quality service and signature free shipping will keep them coming back."

To help customers find My Kids Feet, the company is already planning a national advertising campaign on Nickelodeon and Discovery Kids for the busy back-to-school season. "Come July, more than 13 million parents nationwide will know about My Kids Feet," Curavo said.

Unlike most online start-ups, My Kids Feet is launching with the critical support of many children's footwear vendors. "There aren't many 21-year-olds who can say they have Vice Presidents and CEOs of publicly traded companies on their speed dial, but it is those contacts who have mentored me over the better part of the last decade and have made all of this possible," said Curavo. Some vendors have extended credit to the fledgling start-up, while others are assisting by providing marketing support through their own websites and through co-production of an upcoming television campaign.

To celebrate the launch of the new children's footwear website, which specializes in high quality kids' shoes for babies and toddlers, ages 0-10, My Kids Feet is offering 20% off suggested retail on everything in stock through the end of April.
