Thank you for giving these kids something to be excited about!
Ramsey, N.J. (Vocus) April 8, 2010
When Syracuse-Princeton, Virginia-North Carolina, and Delaware-Hofstra go head-to-head during the Konica Minolta Big City Classic on April 10, there will be 100 very special guests at the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. watching the games, thanks to title sponsor Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta). As part of its continued effort to support local communities in which the company maintains a presence, Konica Minolta, a leading provider of advanced imaging and networking technologies for the desktop to the print shop, has donated 100 game tickets to the Rusty Red Foundation.
Founded in 2007 by Joe Lizzio, The Rusty Red Foundation is a philanthropic lacrosse organization that promotes and supports community athletic projects in underprivileged areas. The foundation is currently involved with a number of programs including Girls in the Game in Chicago, the Bridgeport Youth Lacrosse Program in Connecticut, Immokalee High School in Florida, and the Harlem Jets and Cardinal Hayes High School in New York.
Players from the Bridgeport Youth Lacrosse Program and Cardinal Hayes High School will attend the premier event at the New Meadowlands Stadium. The Bridgeport Program, created by Donald Wilson three years ago, conducts regular clinics in the Bridgeport community for young boys and girls. This year the group has its first team and begins a regular schedule this spring. Cardinal Hayes High School, coached by John Connolly, is in its first year as a program but already has close to 50 boys participating.
“We are extremely thankful for the opportunity that Konica Minolta has provided the foundation. For the many young aspiring lacrosse players who are a part of the Rusty Red family, there is nothing more inspiring than seeing the game played at the highest level,” said Hilary Bowen, Rusty Red Foundation. “Thank you for giving these kids something to be excited about!”
“One of our corporate initiatives is to connect with our local communities and a big part of that initiative is helping young students experience high profile events such as the Konica Minolta Big City Classic,” said Kevin Kern, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A. Inc. “We are proud to be able to step up and provide these young lacrosse players with a chance to experience lacrosse on the collegiate level, and hope they are engaged to become the next-generation of great college lacrosse players and business leaders.”
Ticket prices for the Konica Minolta Big City Classic are $40 for Club Level seats, $25 for Lower Level reserved seats, and $15 for groups of 10 or more.
