Konica Minolta, Leader in Innovative Learning, Wins Bronze Award for Excellence in Best Learning Team Category

Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta), a leading provider of advanced imaging and networking technologies for the desktop to the print shop, today announced that it has won a bronze award for excellence from Brandon Hall, a leading independent expert in e-learning. The coveted award, in the Best Learning Team category, recognizes Konica Minolta's innovative and successful Outward Global Certification Program.

Konica Minolta's Outward Global Certification Program is tailored for field technicians and technical support staff of Konica Minolta, its subsidiaries, and channel partners which include distributors, dealers and authorized service providers. This curriculum provides technical managers with a structured process to enhance a technician or technical support members' industry knowledge, and set a career path for their professional development. The certification program comprises four certification levels that build on each other (associate, professional, expert and master). Expert and master layers are divided into specific technology tracks for color, production print, network, and office solutions.

Konica Minolta was recognized during a ceremony held on Thursday, September 25, 2008 in San Jose, Calif., as part of the 2008 Innovations in Learning Conference, held September 24-26. The Brandon Hall Excellence in Learning Awards are presented annually by Brandon Hall Research, one of the leading research firms in training and development. Now in its fourteenth year, the Awards program showcases exceptional work in the use of learning technology. "We were impressed with the quality of this year's winning entries," said Brandon Hall, Ph.D., chairman of the awards program. "These winners set the standard for what innovative learning looks like today."

Entries were submitted in the categories of Best Custom Content, Best Innovation in Learning Technology, Best Learning Team, Best Results of a Learning Program, Best Use of Blended Learning, Best Use of Blogs, Wikis, and other Content-Sharing Tools for Learning, Best Use of Games for Learning, Best Use of Mobile Learning, Best Use of Video for Learning, and Best Use of Virtual Worlds for Learning. A total of 246 entries were originally submitted, and the entries were evaluated by independent judges around the world
