Acquisition Creates First National, Industry-Specific Business Intelligence Solution Provider

In addition, we are excited to add BITadvisors’ team of executives, consultants and educators to Kogent. They have proven experience in managing and deploying significant BI implementations and undoubtedly will support the rapid development of Kogent.

Kogent Corporation today announced its acquisition of Business Intelligence Technology Advisors, Inc., a leading provider of Business Intelligence (BI), Data Warehousing (DW) and Analytics solutions for the healthcare, financial and manufacturing industries. With the addition of BITadvisors and its expertise in the eastern US, Kogent has taken another significant step in forming the first North American firm dedicated exclusively to providing industry-specific BI, DW and Analytics solutions.

“Incorporating BITadvisors’ comprehensive healthcare product set and significant business expertise will allow Kogent to expand rapidly in the healthcare market,” said Sudhir Saxena, CEO of Kogent, Santa Clara-based BI provider that has been experiencing explosive growth since its establishment in November 2009. “In addition, we are excited to add BITadvisors’ team of executives, consultants and educators to Kogent. They have proven experience in managing and deploying significant BI implementations and undoubtedly will support the rapid development of Kogent.”

BI is a particularly critical topic in the healthcare industry, where the new healthcare reform law will affect virtually every industry participant including patients, hospitals, medical groups, physicians, suppliers and insurers. It has become imperative for providers to rapidly analyze information spanning financial, clinical and operational disciplines in order to improve operational efficiencies, support vital decision-making processes, and remain in compliance. Providers can receive immediate value by implementing prebuilt, proven capabilities and products to meet their enterprise-wide information needs.

“Our clients and partners want a BI, DW and Analytics partner that offers trustworthy solutions for their industry and is continuing to develop those solutions along with their needs,” said Brian Jordan, CEO of BITadvisors. “They want a 24 by 7 support infrastructure, and they want solutions to be platform and technology agnostic. We are confident that by being part of Kogent we can thoroughly deliver on those desires.” Jordan, who will serve as Executive Vice President of Sales for Kogent, continued, “Kogent’s strong, industry-specific product development capabilities and expanded geographic reach will support the growth of our current business relationships and extend our solutions into new markets.”

Today more than ever, organizations seek to capitalize on the value of corporate data to become more agile and competitive. By deploying Business Intelligence solutions, companies are better able to provide organizational alignment, visibility and confidence in their decision-making process.
