Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta), a leading provider of advanced imaging and networking technologies for the desktop to the print shop, and the Gator Bowl Association announced today is the start of the "THE PATCH" program for the 2009 Konica Minolta Gator Bowl.

"THE PATCH", the official membership program of the Gator Bowl Association, boasts bigger and better benefits in 2008. For just $5, members will receive a commemorative Konica Minolta Gator Bowl PATCH and earn great benefits including invitations to PATCH parties and member-only events, plus free services and discounts at participating area restaurants, entertainment venues and golf courses. "THE PATCH" is on sale now and benefits will last through January 8, 2009.

"We like to think of 'THE PATCH' as the common thread that ties Northeast Florida and the Konica Minolta Gator Bowl together," said Brian Goin, Gator Bowl Association Chairman. "Plus, every player in the game wears it on their jersey, so it's also a cool souvenir for the fans. THE PATCH" is the official patch that will be worn by players appearing in the 64th Annual Konica Minolta Gator Bowl Game that will be held on Thursday, January 1, 2009 at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium."

When wearing their PATCH, members will receive the following benefits through January 8, 2009: one free round of golf per visit and 50% off laser tag and go-karts at Adventure Landing; 15% off at Bono's Pit Bar-B-Q; a free $5 powercard per day / per visit at Dave & Buster's; $0.50 off each fill-up of $50 or more at Gate Petroleum; $35 round of golf all day Monday - Friday and after 11 am on Saturday and Sunday at The Golf Club at Fleming Island, Windsor Parke Golf Club and The Champions Club at Julington Creek; one free game per day at Jax Lanes and Jax Lanes West; 15% off at McAlister's Deli, as well as buy one Southern Style Chicken Biscuit or Sandwich get one of the same free at McDonald's.

Member-only events consist of two "PATCH" golf tournaments with shot gun starts, free refreshments and surprises along the course; Game Week and Game Day events like the Adventure Landing Players' Outing where the whole family can meet and greet the players appearing in the Konica Minolta Gator Bowl, and the game day Budweiser Tailgate Party with concessions, interactive games, music, entertainment and more.

PATCH parties will be hosted monthly beginning in August and extending through November at local establishments throughout Jacksonville. "THE PATCH" Patrol will be on-site to give away official Konica Minolta Gator Bowl souvenirs, and select one lucky winner to receive a FREE pair of tickets to the January 1, 2009 Konica Minolta Gator Bowl. Participation in "THE PATCH" program also supports youth football as well as dance and cheer teams through Greater Jacksonville and First Coast Pop Warner Leagues. The Gator Bowl Association will host "Park of the Week" promotions at area Pop Warner parks featuring giveaways, drawings, and the Gator Bowl mascot "PATCHES". Eight youth football teams will also get a chance to compete for the Little Gator Bowl Pop Warner Championship title in Jacksonville Municipal Stadium on Sunday, November 2, 2008.
