Finding a syndicated radio program that features the best in Roots music on an international scale, and recognizing these talented artists for their accomplishments have been a real challenge up until now. Featuring the finest of the Roots genre, KZMU-FM is proud to present the new program “The Roots Music Express,” which airs every Thursday at 2 p.m. MST.

Listeners of “The Roots Music Express” will hear a mix of established and independent artists, including some that they may have never discovered any other way. Each week, the show breaks new ground by counting down the most radio air played albums as posted on being reported by hundreds of radio stations around the globe. There has never been a Roots music show that has featured the most air-played albums on the planet.

The Roots Music Express also selects and features the "RS hot pick” from the best music placed on, a highly respected service for radio stations around the globe to download and air new music.

Live on KZMU-FM and streamed at and, this commercial-free show also has a unique “family” spin, as the hosts are Robert B and his four sons (Shane Cody, Brandon Wayne, Lance Colton and Weston Jerett). Together, they have dedicated themselves to providing a one-of-a-kind show for listeners.

“The Roots Music Express” features interviews with some of the top-charting artists, and is about to launch another segment that will surely generate some buzz-worthy feedback over the Internet. The new segment, “Inside the Real Music Business,” will be filled with positive information, juicy tidbits that will pique interests, and will also delve into some of the scams that circulate in the music industry.
