The new GoldenAgeStories.com interactive Flash Website Pulp Fiction universe showcases 153 fiction stories in books and audio books by L. Ron Hubbard via immersive and engaging Flash video, audio, print, drawings, and iTunes Podcasts from 80 classic books.
Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) November 4, 2008 -- Galaxy Press announced today it has launched an infotainment site at GoldenAgeStories.com that vividly showcases stories from 80 pulp fiction books written in the 1930s and 40s by New York Times' best selling author L. Ron Hubbard. The fiction books and audio books make up the newly-released series, Stories from the Golden Age, being published over the next six years and are written for readers of all ages.
With 3D graphics, audio book and print excerpts, and an interactive story-based game, the new website takes users into a literary world of mystery, adventure, science fiction, fantasy, westerns and romance books. The multi-faceted site includes video clips and book trailers featuring the Hollywood voice actors for the audio books and iTunes podcasts of live story readings, "The Space Can" video game, downloadable original pulp artwork desktop wallpaper, actor biographies, and an extensive photo-bio of author L. Ron Hubbard.
"We've designed the site in Adobe Flash to be very cool and Flash game-like for the visitor," said John Goodwin, Galaxy Press president. "It's pure infotainment where someone can easily spend hours exploring, interacting with, and viewing its many parts."
A Shockwave video game at goldenagestories.com/html/games.php based on Hubbard's science fiction story, "The Space Can" found in the book "The Great Secret", will keep even the most accomplished video gamers occupied for hours as they strive to reach the top level and win the game
Users can view podcasts from weekly live readings of some of the newly-released stories performed by audio book cast members. iTunes users can register online to receive iTunes book podcasts at goldenagestories.com/html/podcasts.php. The site also includes brief bios and photos of each of the voice actors used in the audio books at goldenagestories.com/html/actors.php.
Other sections contain original, downloadable pulp cover art, current reviews of the stories, and a variety of other desktop downloads.
A detailed, historical section highlights original photos from the 1930s and 40s of L. Ron Hubbard. "We wanted to show readers and listeners how Mr. Hubbard's many travels and adventures allowed him to get the information he needed to write accurate, believable descriptions in so many genres," added Goodwin.
Visitors to the website can also signup for a Stories from the Golden Age book club subscription to receive either the book or audio book of each title as it is released monthly over the next five years.
"The content featured in the goldenagestories.com site is for readers of all ages," Goodwin said. "We've done informal tests in public schools across the U.S., and the stories have proven themselves as great reads for reluctant readers as well."
