A few healthy Holiday eating tips are all that is needed to keep from packing on those traditional Holiday pounds. Many view the weeks from Thanksgiving to New Year's Day as a never ending buffet. This attitude in no doubt the main reason that the number one New Year's resolution is to lose weight.
In order to help avoid this annual weight gain here are a few tips for this Holiday season:
1. Have a plan
2. Have a snack first
3. No recreational eating
LA Fitness Hours suggest having a plan. What does having a plan mean? It means being mindful that this is the Holiday season and not to over do Having a plan makes it easier to deal with situations when they arise. Stay away from the greasy foods and do not over do it with desserts.
Have a snack before getting to the destination. This may seem counter productive to overeating but it will actually help with eating less. Typically going to a Holiday event most refrain from eating beforehand since there is the knowledge that there will be plenty of food there. All this does is make one more hungry at the arrival of the event. This can lead to over indulgence. Eating a light healthy snack such as a piece of fruit or yogurt immediately before leaving for the party will prevent stomachs from growling when the sight or smell of the first appetizer happens.
LA Fitness Hours recommends to avoid any recreational eating. Recreational eating is what takes place when continuous eating occurs and then the loss of time and of how much has actually been consumed happens. A typical case of this scenario is eating while watching football. To prevent this mistake make a single plate of the foods you want to try. Once you have a plate then savor your portions slowly. Savoring means thoroughly chewing, tasting and enjoying every bite. Also try to hold off on a third plate.
