Sixclear (, an Austin start up, has released a LabVIEW 2010 update for its popular LabVIEW Fundamentals online training course as well as its onsite, instructor-led course.

National Instruments released LabVIEW 2010 on August 3, 2010 with several exciting new features and updates. Sixclear has studied the new features and updates to determine which are most useful for inclusion in its LabVIEW Fundamentals Course.

According to Brian Spears, a former National Instruments engineer and founder of Sixclear: “Our goal at Sixclear is to make LabVIEW training as easy as possible. We have analyzed all the LabVIEW 2010 features pertinent to our LabVIEW Fundamentals Course and taken a video recording showing exactly how they can be programmed and implemented, just as we have with the rest of the course. These features have been integrated with the course manuals, solution code, and solution videos to ensure our customers are fluent in the latest LabVIEW technology”.

Any current user of the LabVIEW Fundamentals Online Course will automatically be able to access the LabVIEW 2010 updates at no additional cost as part of Sixclear's standard licensing model.

Some of the LabVIEW 2010 features in the new update include:

  •     Application wide search
  •     Exporting data from arrays, charts, and graphs
  •     A new appearance for Boolean constants, string displays, local and global variables, and the Merge Errors function
  •     LabVIEW project enhancements, such as sorting within projects
  •     Exporting images from charts and graphs
  •     Using type defs with shared variables
  •     Viewing clusters as icons
