The pop phenomenon Lady Gaga’s ongoing insistence on wearing fur during her widely popular "Born This Way Ball" Tour has generated various threats against her from a number of aggressive animal activists. Lady Gaga tickets have received a 20% reduction for 2012 & 2013 tour dates at TicketHunterOnline.

According to E! News, a growing fury from Islamic organizations became outraged by Lady Gaga wearing a burqa to designer Philip Treacy’s show during London Fashion Week. The anger is targeted not at the burqa but at the clutch she carried, with profanity clearly emblazoned on it.

“That comes across as a clear insult to Muslims and Islam,” said a Chicago-based representative of several Muslim groups said to E! News, who asked not to be identified. The uproar may lead to a big increase in Lady Gaga’s security detail.

All this can be a bit confusing, given Gaga’s long advocacy of compassion for all religions. In an interview with the Chicago Sun Times, Gaga had indicated being "extremely upset" by the release of the horrible 14-minute trailer for that anti-Muslim film that may have contributed to the murder of U.S. ambassador Chris Stevens and his three colleagues in Benghazi, Libya, last week.

Today, Lady Gaga announced that the next leg of her “Born This Way Ball” tour will include two dozen North American cities beginning in January with long-time pop icon Madonna. On Saturday in Atlantic City, Madonna dedicated a song to Lady Gaga, but most agree that it was the latest backhanded compliment that was really meant to be a dig at the mega star.

Lady Gaga’s North American tour dates begin in January in Vancouver, traveling down the West Coast of the U.S., then across the Southwest. Gaga will make stops in L.A., Phoenix, Dallas, and Houston, according to The New York Times. She’ll play Midwest cities St. Louis, Detroit and Chicago before heading to the East Coast.

Lady Gaga will play New York’s Madison Square Garden on Feb. 22, Washington D.C., and Boston before returning to play in Brooklyn. She’ll wrap up her North American tour leg in Miami on March 16. All upcoming 2012 and 2013 tour dates & ticket scheduling are to be referenced at
