Lydia the ladybug's adventures continue in this most charming of sequels as she finds herself on the London Stage in a production of Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet." How indeed does this happen?

Lydia is on her way to Miss Spider's when she encounters the charismatic Frederick T. Frog. Dressed in Renaissance attire, Frederick loves to recite verse by Shakespeare, sing songs on his lute and is about to embark on a tour to spread culture becoming a poet of the New Age. He asks Lydia, if she would like to play the part of Juliet opposite him in the play "Romeo and Juliet."

One day, an ambitious talent scout by the name of Mr. Riley who has spent weeks searching the globe to find a novelty act for his variety show happens to land his plane near where Fred and Lydia are rehearsing.

Riley discovers them and seizes the opportunity to bring them to the London stage where, he tells them, they will become the toast of London! All is well until it is opening night at the theatre. Fred and Lydia are to make their debut in a performance of "Romeo and Juliet." A crowd eagerly awaits this extraordinary event. But where is Fred?

The illustrations with much creativity capture the amusing characters and enhance this richly imaginative tale. This is a great book to introduce your child to the Bard. There's a wonderful biography about him written especially for young readers and a clever weaving of Shakespeare's quotes throughout the story.

This children's book is a great gift idea to add much merriment to the holiday season and one that any child would delight in receiving.
