Guntersville, Alabama, a charmed mountain lake community in Northern Alabama, has captivated visitors for generations. With a traditional lake town feel and a welcoming family setting, Guntersville continues to be a favorite destination for fishing, hiking, birding or purely enjoying the scenic beauty of this Alabama mountain lake region.

Families looking to reconnect in this growing scenic area now have a new option to allow them to enjoy the lake and community with the introduction of the new lakefront resort community, Lighthouse Pointe.

Tourism growth to Lake Guntersville and the surrounding area has grown steadily over the past 6 years, and remains on track for strong growth in 2008. Just last year tourism-related revenue to the Alabama Mountain Lakes region saw a 17% increase —a remarkable number—which represents growing awareness of the area.

While much of the annual tourism visits to the area reflect generations of repeat visitors, new guests and new markets are now discovering this charmed mountain lake community, and looking to spend more time in this traditional lake community. In recent years, the area has seen significant new visits from Florida, Georgia and the North East.

To meet the growth of destination guests and new second homeowners to the area, Lighthouse Pointe is being introduced as a fresh alternative to the Lake Guntersville real estate landscape. The new marina community brings the only comprehensive resort-style community to the Lake’s shores, for owners to enjoy, or place on the rental program. With the comfortable balance of its rustic Lake- Lodge architecture and modern amenities, the community was designed to welcome owners and guests alike. With 2, 3 and 4-bedroom condominiums, Lighthouse Pointe is ideal for the couples retreat, or an extended family gathering, complete with the amenities to make it a very memorable stay: marina, dry boat storage, 3 pools, clubhouse and fitness area, 2 putting greens, playground and walking trails meandering along the lake and acres of inland ponds. Property and available rental management provide a true turn-key ownership experience for part-time residents.

“Lighthouse Pointe,” explains Sales Director Chuck Johnson, “reflects the growing trend for many to enjoy a different kind of coastal home – in a charmed traditional lake town, where the recent ravages of increasing property insurance, taxes and lake-lowering droughts and coastal storms are not felt. People still want to vacation, enjoy a second home, but at a slower pace where their neighbors become friends and the cost of living is far less than the Florida coastal properties they once considered.”

And unlike the real estate struggles seen in other national markets, property values in the Alabama mountain lakes area had not realized the ‘value bubble’. With home prices remaining low, the Lake Guntersville real estate pace has remained brisk, reflected by the early sales success at Lighthouse Pointe.

New construction on the first residential building and clubhouse is planned to commence in late summer, with first residents able to enjoy their homes in summer 2009.

Lighthouse Pointe will host Open Houses throughout the summer season to showcase the property, and will introduce the new Lighthouse Pointe team to the community beginning in May and June.

The Welcome Center on Val Monte Drive (off Wyeth Drive and US431) is open daily at 10am – 5pm.

"We are excited about being a part of the continued growth of Guntersville," said Johnson. "People from across the country have been coming to visit the area for years, and we welcome them with open arms to continue their traditions at Lighthouse Pointe."
