In a recent poll conducted by LANDFLIP.com, more than 30 percent of prospective land buyers will purchase land in three months or less.

There are a lot of factors that are fueling buyers' desire to purchase land in the near future

Atlanta, Georgia In some areas like Tucson, where land sales were down nearly 30 percent in 2008, sellers are wondering when the market will rebound. According to a new LANDFLIP.com poll, land sales in some regions are likely to peak over the next 12 months, due to projected buyer activity. Among the more than 1,100 potential buyers who participated in the web site's latest poll, an overwhelming number of respondents are planning to close on land deals in the next 12 months, with more than 30 percent of respondents likely to purchase land in three months or less.

"There are a lot of factors that are fueling buyers' desire to purchase land in the near future," said Ryan Folk, founder of LANDFLIP.com. "More sellers are willing to offer unique financing arrangements, to overcome the barriers of stricter lending policies enforced by banks. Additionally, for buyers who can secure financing, mortgage rates still remain at near historic lows, and property prices are continuing to fall."

Of the respondents polled on LANDFLIP.com, more than 10 percent are planning to purchase land in less than one month, while 22 percent aim to purchase in three months or less. Of the remaining respondents, 40 percent plan to purchase in three to 12 months, while 26 percent have plans to purchase in 12 or more months. Among the most popular land types that potential buyers are currently considering are hunting and recreational land; retirement, homesites and minifarms; and farm, timber or agricultural land.

Since its launch, LANDFLIP.com has proven to be a comprehensive resource for potential buyers searching for hunting land, farm land, home sites, timber land, horse farms, ranches and other land for sale, land auctions and land for lease. The website has also been ideal for agents, investors and independent sellers seeking innovative new ways to market their properties, and reach interested buyers. LANDFLIP.com features listings throughout the United States, and as of January 2009, properties in Canada, Costa Rica, Mexico and Puerto Rico.

"We've seen an enormous increase in web traffic on the website as potential buyers research deals throughout the country and abroad to get a sense of what's out there before they finalize any decisions to purchase land," said Folk. "We've added a number of features to help make the process easier, like our land video tours and profile building tool, and we look forward to helping buyers make wise, profitable decisions in the months ahead."
