The Landfill Free Company Continues to Trailblaze in Environmentally Friendly Trash Elimination

Sustainable Waste Solutions - The Landfill Free Company
Putting the first CNG trash truck on the road in Pennsylvania allows SWS to expand upon its commitment to providing a sustainable waste handling alternative to the area’s green conscious companies,” said Randy Hendricks, President and CEO of SWS.

Sustainable Waste Solutions (SWS), the Landfill Free waste and recycling company servicing Southeastern Pennsylvania, the Lehigh Valley, and Delaware, today announced that they are the first Pennsylvania company to utilize a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) trash truck. With this significant milestone, and as corporate environmental stewardship gains momentum throughout the state, SWS is poised to continue its leadership role as a trailblazer in forward-thinking, environmentally friendly trash elimination – including Landfill Free alternatives for recycling, waste disposal, food composting, electronics recycling and Energy-from-Waste solutions.

Industry sources indicate that the demand for refuse trucks powered by CNG is expected to grow at a rate of greater than 15 percent per year. “Putting the first CNG trash truck on the road in Pennsylvania allows SWS to expand upon its commitment to providing a sustainable waste handling alternative to the area’s green conscious companies,” said Randy Hendricks, President and CEO of SWS. “The new trucks are not only an industry game changer for greener waste disposal and Landfill Free trash hauling, but they’re a huge benefit to the environment when you consider the air quality benefits of CNG versus diesel vehicles.”

As both a local and national environmental trend, natural gas has significant operational and environmental benefits versus diesel including lower fuel and operational costs; quieter operation, including an 80 to 90 percent lower decibel level than comparable diesel trucks; a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 25 to 30 percent; a reduction in carbon monoxide (CO) up to 80 percent; and a reduction in nitrogen oxide (NOx) up to 85 percent.

“Introducing the CNG trucks is an integral part of our long-term sustainability platform, and we look forward to transitioning our entire fleet to this home grown fuel” said Hendricks. “We anticipate that our clients will embrace the new CNG trash trucks as an extension of our passion for preserving the environment and our commitment to sustainability within the waste removal industry.”
