Educational software company Imagine Learning announced today that Joe Swenson has been named president and chief operating officer. Swenson will draw on his extensive background as a successful president, CEO and general manager to optimize company performance and accelerate revenue growth at Imagine Learning.

Swenson brings more than 20 years of experience to his new position. From 2002 to 2007, he served as president and CEO of DynaVox, a communication and education solutions company that saw continued revenue growth and increased market penetration under Swenson’s leadership. Prior to working with DynaVox, Swenson developed and executed corporate strategy, improved company culture and increased profits at Hill-Rom Acute Care and Hill-Rom Europe. Those achievements and others garnered recognition from peers and industry leaders alike; in 2006, Swenson was named CEO of the Year by the Pittsburgh Technology Council.
Swenson received his MBA from the Brigham Young University Marriott School of Management, where he graduated with honors. He most recently led volunteer missionary efforts in Concepción, Chile, where he was directly involved in recovery initiatives after the February 2010 earthquakes and tsunamis.
