Lanmark Group's Michael McCarthy Selected by NJBiz as One of New Jersey's "Forty Under 40”

Michael McCarthy, Chief Creative Officer of New Jersey healthcare advertising, marketing, and communications agency Lanmark Group recognized for his commitment to business growth, professional excellence, and the community.

Lanmark Group, a full-service healthcare advertising, marketing, and communications agency, is pleased to announce that its Chief Creative Officer, Michael McCarthy, has been selected as one of NJBiz magazine’s Forty Under 40 for 2006.

Each year, the Forty Under 40 awards program honors men and women 39 years old or younger who have been making headlines in their field and who share a commitment to business growth, professional excellence, and the community. Nominees are either self-nominated or nominated by another person. Winners are selected by an independent panel of judges.

A program of NJBiz magazine, and sponsored by AXA Advisors and Wiss & Company, LLP, the winners will be honored at an awards reception on Monday, November 6th at the Sheraton at Woodbridge Place in Iselin, NJ, and featured in a special supplement to NJBiz.

Throughout the years, McCarthy has had extraordinary success, both personally and professionally. Currently, as CCO of Lanmark Group, McCarthy is commonly referred to as the “Face of Lanmark.”

Under McCarthy’s leadership, Lanmark has experienced record profitability while streamlining the organization in both size and client portfolio. He is an openly gay executive who has successfully lobbied for Lanmark Group to provide same-gender partner benefits to its employees and their significant others.

McCarthy is also one of the few CCOs in the world of advertising to possess an MBA in Pharmaceutical Marketing. He has been featured as a guest lecturer at over 60 medical and dental schools throughout the US and abroad. McCarthy serves as an adjunct professor at UMDNJ’s School of Dentistry and is a marketing consultant to the American Dental Association.

In addition, McCarthy also enjoys the status of being the youngest member of the Smithsonian Institute/National Museum of Dentistry Marketing Advisory Board located in Maryland.

McCarthy also finds time to contribute to the local community. He spends his free time devoted to two specific areas in New Jersey: gay and lesbian issues and animal care. He holds active roles in the Gay Men’s Health Crisis, Meals on Wheels, PAWS, and the Names Project -- remembering those lost to AIDS via the largest quilt project in the world.
