Eat|See|Hear, an outdoor movie series held throughout Los Angeles, will be showing The Princess Bride on Saturday, May 25 at Santa Monica High School. This Santa Monica outdoor movie event will feature live music by indie-rock trio Derde Verde, presented by Oragami Vinyl, and the following food trucks: Schmuck Truck, MOEggrolls, India Jones, Bun Truck, Coolhaus, Brasil Kiss and My Delight Cupcakery. There are three ticket options: general admission tickets are $10, popchips-sponsored, premium seating tickets are $20 and a limited number of passes available at the door will sell for $12.
“This will be a fun night,” says Eat|See|Hear Co-Owner Sharon Sperber. “The Princess Bride is loved by a lot of people, and I think they will be as excited to see it on the big screen as we will be to show it.”
The Princess Bride is a well-loved cult film and romantic comedy starring Peter Falk, Fred Savage, Cary Elwes and Robin Wright. The film has been included in several “best” lists, including “100 Funniest Movies” and “50 Greatest Comedy Films.” The film tells the story of the love affair between Buttercup (Robin Wright) and her farmhand Westley (Cary Elwes) who are reunited when Westley attempts to save Buttercup from her unfortunate engagement. The tale of love and adventure is framed as a story being told to a boy (Fred Savage) by his grandfather (Peter Falk).
Eat|See|Hear is LA’s premier outdoor movie, food truck and live music series that brings an evening of fun to Los Angeles-area venues each summer. The second annual series is presented by SHOWTIME, featuring up and coming bands from the local music scene, the hottest food trucks and the only 3-story high, 52-foot wide inflatable movie screen west of the Mississippi with the highest quality HD-projection and digital surround sound. The Eat|See|Hear series promises an enjoyable movie-going experience for everyone.
