Haynes and Boone, LLP has added Louis M. Solomon -- an attorney with extensive experience litigating complex business, commercial, securities and bankruptcy and business restructuring cases -- as a partner in its New York litigation practice.

Mr. Solomon was previously a partner with Dechert LLP in New York.

In recent months through internal transfers and lateral hiring, Haynes and Boone has bolstered its New York-based litigation, bankruptcy, securities regulation, white collar crime and finance capabilities. The firm has set an overall goal of expanding to at least 100 lawyers in New York in the next several years.

In his practice, Mr. Solomon represents clients in various complex commercial matters, including securities fraud cases, breach of contract actions, and partnership disputes. Mr. Solomon has represented individuals and corporations in connection with government and internal investigations, and has litigated numerous fraud cases involving banks and brokerages. Mr. Solomon's practice has also included real property actions involving senior and subordinated debt, and a variety of intellectual property matters. Mr. Solomon also has extensive experience in arbitration and mediations before various tribunals, including the AAA, the ICC and the ICDR.

Mr. Solomon is the co-author of the section on trademark infringement appearing in Business and Commercial Litigation in Federal Courts (West 2005). He has also lectured on developments in hedge fund oversight.
