It is a great benefit to a firm when a principal from the client side chooses to return to the private practice of law
New York, NY (Vocus) June 5, 2010
The international law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP announced the addition of shareholder Mark Manski to its Business Reorganization and Bankruptcy Practice. Manski will focus his practice on general corporate and real estate restructurings. Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig, Manski served as managing director at Barclays Capital where he managed its workout practice in the Americas and served as chief credit officer for its commercial real estate businesses in the United States.
“It is a great benefit to a firm when a principal from the client side chooses to return to the private practice of law,” said Bruce R. Zirinsky, co-chair of the firm’s global Business Reorganization and Bankruptcy Practice. “Mark’s in-depth knowledge gained from leading scores of restructuring matters at a premier financial institution will provide Greenberg Traurig valuable insight and enable us to better serve our clients.”
Manski has wide-ranging experience both as principal and advisor. Since the early 1980s, Manski has been involved in handling restructuring matters as both a creditor and debtor. He has sat on a number of public and private boards of directors of companies requiring restructuring guidance. Manski has also served as chairman and member of several official creditor committees, as well as a significant number of ad-hoc creditor committees.
“I am excited to come back to my roots as a lawyer and I am ready for a new challenge in my career,” said Manski. “Greenberg Traurig’s unique platform and strong real estate and restructuring groups will allow me to utilize my legal, credit and business skills in general corporate and real estate restructurings.”
The attorneys in Greenberg Traurig’s Business Reorganization and Bankruptcy Practice have decades of experience handling the many complex issues that arise in reorganizations, restructurings, workouts, liquidations, and distressed acquisitions and sales, as well as cross-border proceedings. Greenberg Traurig offers clients the resources and reach of one the country’s largest bankruptcy practices, with more than 95 bankruptcy attorneys located across the United States and in London who are supported by the firm’s international platform of 1775 attorneys in the United States, Europe and Asia.
Manski, who is admitted in Massachusetts, will be spending time in both the New York and Boston offices of the firm.
