Without equal access to the law, our system deprives the poor of their only protection, and gives those who can afford representation one of the most powerful tools ever invented.

Following his 3 year term on the WSBA Board of Governors, Injury Attorney, Loren S. Etengoff is devoting time to his passion for civil legal aid and is pleased to be appointed as one of the additional two new members of the twelve member LAW Fund Board of Directors.
The Legal Aid for Washington Fund (LAW Fund) administers the Campaign for Equal Justice, which is Washington’s legal community’s collaborative annual fundraising drive for Washington State’s Civil Legal Aid programs.
Without equal access to the law, our system deprives the poor of their only protection, and gives those who can afford representation one of the most powerful tools ever invented. Unlike criminal matters, there is no constitutional right to counsel in civil cases. Without civil legal help, too many domestic abuse victims don’t find safety, predatory lenders lead to increased bankruptcy and homelessness, illegal evictions cause families to move from place to place; all of which create greater demand on limited private and governmental services.
The 2011 Campaign for Equal Justice is underway with campaign co-chairs, Attorney General Rob McKenna and Washington State Bar Past President, Sal Mungia. The goal for 2011 is to raise 1.5 million for 25 civil legal aid programs in Washington.
