Today, LayerVault has released the latest revision to its version control and storage service for designers. Initially hailed as a "github for designers", LayerVault is a home for design files that offers unlimited file storage and simple design-specific version control.
LayerVault has been fully redesigned for LayerVault 2, making the features designers love even better. The visual timeline allows designers to see the history of their work. The version control built specifically for designers means backups of every revision with no extra workflow. The pubic previews make sharing with clients even better.
The release of LayerVault 2 brings tools to the web which once only existed in desktop design apps. Designers can now do things like extract colors and measure mockup sizes, both simple tasks that used to required opening a photo editing app. LayerVault 2 also introduces "Wormhole" a patent-pending feature that allows designers to perform a visual search of their work simply by highlighting areas of their designs.
LayerVault was founded in 2011 by Allan Grinshtein and Kelly Sutton and is based out of New York City. Logo and screenshots available at http://layervault.com/about
