Ford Motor Company’s recent announcement that crash tests prove vehicles fitted with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) bumpers are safer than those equipped with aftermarket bumpers has people concerned. To quell the fear, Eur-Asia Motors Auto Collision Center, a San Francisco auto body shop, announced publicly today their long-standing policy of using only OEM replacement parts.

“All aftermarket parts are not created equal, but all OEM parts are—so that’s all we use,” said John Arrambide of Eur-Asia Motors. “We have seen evidence of aftermarket parts manufactures cutting corners during material selection and engineering so they can offer lower price points on parts—parts that don’t perform as they should which compromises passenger safety.”

Ford Motor Company recently made the announcement that crash tests they have conducted prove that using aftermarket instead of SEO bumpers can negatively impact airbag deployment and result in greater damage to the vehicle. Ford’s announcement was made at the Collision Industry Conference (CIC) held November 3, 2010 at the SEMA show in Las Vegas.

In addition to only using OEM replacement body parts, Eur-Asia Motors uses state of the art Chief and Chisum frame straighteners, Genesis laser measurement equipment, and Wolf sonar equipment to restore each vehicle’s frame to its original form. This ensures a precision restoration, so the vehicle is restored to its original level of safety.

“Restoration is more than making the vehicle look great,” said Harry Ming, founder of Eur-Asia Motors. “But you are compromising your investment and safety when you go with a low ball bid from a body shop using aftermarket parts and outdated equipment and technology.”
