Say you’re one of the thousands of former Wall Streeters who have suddenly found themselves not only without a job but, often, without a career. What to do? One answer may be found in the services offered by the Center for Leadership Resilience.

These are a unique breed

Created by long-term financial services consulting and coaching expert Leo F. Flanagan, Jr., Ph.D., the Center for Leadership Resilience provides a team of trained psychologists and executive coaches, who work to restore confidence and direction for capital markets professionals in need of resources and focus.

"These are a unique breed," says Flanagan. "Many have never failed at anything in their lives. But now they find themselves thrust into a unique personal crisis. We offer the opportunity to create a new path forward -- by searching for work and career opportunities that can be very different from one's previous career path."

Unlike traditional outplacement firms, who contract with an employer for a pre-arranged amount of time, the Center contracts directly with the professional, with no required actions or progress reports to go to one's employer. At the client's disposal is a team of trained psychologists and executive coaches, who work in three areas:

Chart a new course. Using proven tools, validated with years of use, the Center works closely with clients to find new opportunities, leverage strengths, build a practical plan and take positive steps forward. Build personal resilience. Research has shown that resilience is built upon a balanced set of personal commitments, creative decision-making, realistic control and positive networking. The Center enables clients to build these qualities into their daily lives. Leverage personal strengths. The Center works with its clients to take advantage of their greatest strengths and enhance other strengths as necessary to achieve personal goals. The Center for Leadership Resilience is the brainchild of Flanagan, who has more than 25 years of assessing, coaching and consulting experience with leading financial services executives, and Whitaker Raymond, who has worked with successful leaders in financial services for more than 30 years.

Each client has access to a complete array of services that are tailored to the capital markets business professional. These include individual assessment, one-on-one coaching, group networking and use of online tools, as well as services for one's spouse or partner and healthcare centers to maintain good health during periods of high stress.

Offices are located in lower Manhattan and Rye, NY, as well as Jersey City and Summit, NJ. The Center's website can be accessed at http://www.TheCenterForLeadershipResilience.com.
