Leading Edge Design Group to Begin Construction Administration for the University of New Hampshire Research Computing and Instrumentation Center

Leading Edge Design Group, a leading provider of data center design services, announced today that they have begun construction administration efforts for the University of New Hampshire Research Computing and Instrumentation Center (UNH RCI). The design for the renovation of the UNH RCI, completed by Leading Edge Design Group, provides upgrades to the facility that dramatically increase reliability and energy efficiency while improving the University’s ability to support the high density requirements for today’ research computing projects. Construction for the Research Computing and Instrumentation Center began on June 6, 2011 and is scheduled for completion by August 31, 2011.

Leading Edge Design Group, a leading provider of data center design services, announced today that they have begun construction administration efforts for the University of New Hampshire Research Computing and Instrumentation Center (UNH RCI). The design for the renovation of the UNH RCI, completed by Leading Edge Design Group, provides upgrades to the facility that dramatically increase reliability and energy efficiency while improving the University’s ability to support the high density requirements for today’ research computing projects. Construction for the Research Computing and Instrumentation Center began on June 6, 2011 and is scheduled for completion by August 31, 2011.

The University of New Hampshire Research Computing and Instrumentation Center will provide information technology support for the university’s sponsored research community, serve as an alternative to the outsourcing of non-research information technology needs, and foster collaboration among higher education, industry, and government to create innovative technologies to address important social, environmental, and economic needs.

The UNH Research Computing and Instrumentation Center, in partnership with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), was recently honored as a finalist for the prestigious Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medal for their collaborative work the Environmental Response Management Application, or ERMA®, that was essential in coordinating the response to the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
