Our vision for the consortium was to make Jacksonville the center of excellence for lean thinking in North America.
Cambridge, MA (PRWEB) February 03, 2012
The co-founder and past chairman of the Jacksonville Lean Consortium will deliver a plenary session at the annual Lean Transformation Summit, set for Jacksonville, March 7-8, 2012. The conference is sponsored by the nonprofit Lean Enterprise Institute (LEI).
Jerry Bussell, who sports the license plate “Leanjax,” will describe how the consortium, a growing network of 40 companies and government agencies, actively shares information to support each other's lean management transformations.
Bussell’s session is set for 9:30 a.m. March 7, followed by an afternoon breakout session with how-to details about implementing a collaborative learning culture.
“Our vision for the consortium was to make Jacksonville the center of excellence for lean thinking in North America,” Bussell said. He said one of the biggest benefits to consortium members is "Getting people with experience to help you solve a problem."
The annual Transformation Summit gives managers and executives relevant, real-world information about how to implement lean leadership and management. The work of the consortium illustrates this year’s Summit theme of how Collaborative Learning focuses and accelerates lean transformations.
Bussell helped launch the consortium in 2003 when he was vice president of Global Operations at Medtronic Surgical Technologies in Jacksonville, FL.
LEI expects about 400 managers and executives to attend the conference at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront. Preconference workshops run March 5-6. Registration is open now at http://www.lean.org/Events/2012_lean_transformation_summit.cfm
