Cumberland Academy of Georgia is a non-profit independent school in the Atlanta area that is dedicated to serving the needs of high functioning students with Autism and other special needs students. As the school grows rapidly in numbers, one of the areas of the school that needed renovating was the activities room for the students. The activities room is used by teachers to reinforce positive behavior with students and is used often. As LexisNexis toured the school, they could see the value and quality of educational services at Cumberland and decided to contribute to the growth of the school and positive experience of students.

Cumberland received a complete renovation for the activities room. LexisNexis donated new furniture, flat screen televisions and storage cabinets. In addition, Cumberland received a day of service from the human relations department of LexisNexis. Employees worked diligently to freshen and beautify the school. LexisNexis also donated several painted murals to the school, including a large mural of the Cumberland mascot in the gymnasium.

“LexisNexis has become a great corporate partner for the school,” said Tracy Wilbanks, Director of Development. “The finished activities room is amazing, and we are excited to have started a long-term relationship with this great partner.”
