Bill Winsor, President and CEO of the Dallas Market Center, said in a statement that the January 2013 Dallas International Lighting Market was the most effective opening in the last 40 markets.

“Attendance was up, buyers were writing orders, exhibitors were thrilled, and we were encouraged to have such a strong market,” Winsor said.

Among the excited guests and positive turnout, Littman Bros Lighting noticed that there was an abundance of optimism and enthusiasm for the educational elements of the market, specifically in LED technology. The eagerness to see and experience the ever-changing designs in lighting came hand in hand with taking the time to attend the American Lighting Association (ALA) seminars.

Among the handful of ALA seminars, Littman Bros found one to be the most significant – a seminar called “Demystifying Low-Voltage Landscape Lighting”, presented by Richard Allen, CLMR representative of Kichler Lighting.

Not only was this seminar very informative but it also revealed the true importance that LED lighting technology has on the industry; educating dealers and other attendees at the market on LED lighting was a clear priority.

This new found focus on educating the industry in LED technology advancements gave way to open our eyes to the vendors and brands that are continuing to embrace this change in technology. Hinkley Lighting was among these brands that have furthered its designs to accept and adopt the LED benefits as they incorporate that into their lighting conceptions.

It is apparent that Hinkley Lighting is jumping on board to help transform with LED technology; Hinkley’s new 2013 LED landscape releases includes new updates to the already savvy Nexus collection of Hinkley landscape lighting as well as new designs in deck/step lighting and landscape accent lighting. According to hinkleylighting.com, their lines of “eco-luxury landscaping” systems are fully equipped with integrated LED light sources and built-in drivers.

All of the seminars Littman Bros attended absolutely enlightened us and furthered our knowledge on these aspects of the industry. We look forward to even more LED designs from brands that want to further their LED expertise and technological advancements in LED lighting for the future.
