Thomas L. Rowe, an attorney and computer technology expert with OTB Consulting, will make three presentations to the ABA TechShow in Chicago about how law firms can profit from proper use of technology.
“We’ve seen over and over how legal practice management software can help law firms to handle more cases without additional staff and to increase their profitability,” Rowe said. “We’re looking forward to sharing our knowledge with attendees at the TechShow and discussing technology issues and new products that can benefit them.”
The ABA TechShow takes place from April 4 to 6. The legal technology conference brings together attorneys and legal technology consultants to discuss and demonstrate the newest products available to law firms. It is sponsored by the American Bar Association.
Rowe is a founder and managing director of OTB Consulting, a technology company based in Cary, North Carolina. He is the chief architect of BKexpress® -- the leading practice management software designed specifically for consumer bankruptcy attorneys.
Rowe will present “Applying Technology to an Inefficient Process is a Net Gain of Zero” on the first morning of the conference. His presentation will address prioritizing a law firm’s investment in technology, how to access vital office data when working away from the office and the fastest ways to connect to the law office. He will also make a presentation on best practices for remote access, a discussion of technology considerations for attorneys who wish to work by computer away from the office.
Rowe will also be a panelist for a LexisNexis lunch session entitled, “Increase Firm Profitability: Know Which Levers to Pull First.” The session will help law firm stakeholders boost the health of their firms by focusing on the drivers of profitability.
Rowe is one of the country’s top experts in law office case management and automation. He frequently speaks to major legal technology symposiums and publishes in leading legal technology journals. The 2013 conference will be his third time to serve as faculty at the ABA TechShow.
The ABA TechShow conference will feature more than 50 educational sessions about how technology is changing the practice of law. The concurrent expo will present more than 100 leading legal practice technology vendors.
