AlternativeLawyerJobs.com is a unique job posting and information website that matches employers with lawyers seeking alternative career opportunities. For the first time, employers have the opportunity to tap into this large, highly skilled talent pool seeking opportunities to use their legal skills and training in a non-traditional way.

However, not all of my colleagues have been as fortunate. They often mention that they would love to find more fulfilling, unique careers either in or out of the legal profession, but don't know where to find them.

As lawyers continue to seek alternative career opportunities in record numbers, a new website has launched to help them in their search.

AlternativeLawyerJobs.com is a unique job posting website that helps lawyers who have become dissatisfied with traditional legal practice find alternative, more fulfilling careers both in and out of the legal profession.

Long hours, unfulfilling work and a desire for better work / life balance have all contributed to an increase in lawyers seeking in-house, law related, non-legal and entrepreneurial career opportunities.

Unfortunately, finding these opportunities has often been like finding a needle in a haystack…until now!

"Our goal is to have every unique opportunity under the sun that would appeal to an individual with a legal background posted on our website," says the site's founder, lawyer and entrepreneur Stephen Fine. "We will be known as the number one resource for alternative careers for lawyers."

Posting jobs on the website is free, and employers, recruiters and start-ups are welcome to post relevant opportunities directly on the site or link to jobs posted on third party websites.

Career opportunities on the website include:

  • In-house, government and non-profit counsel positions;
  • Part-time & contract work;
  • Law related careers;
  • Non-legal careers; and
  • Opportunities to join Start-ups and Small Businesses

The concept came from Fine's own experience and the experience of his colleagues "I knew very early on in my legal career that traditional practice was not for me, and decided to use my legal skills to find a fulfilling career as in-house counsel that also allows me to take advantage of other business opportunities." "However, not all of my colleagues have been as fortunate. They often mention that they would love to find more fulfilling, unique careers either in or out of the legal profession, but don't know where to find them."

A great resource for Employers, Recruiters & Entrepreneurs to fill legal & non-legal roles:

Fine envisions AlternativeLawyerJobs.com as a one stop resource connecting lawyers, employers, recruiters and entrepreneurs, creating a win-win situation for everyone.

"For employers and entrepreneurs, bringing someone with a legal background on board in either a legal or non-legal role can be a great asset. Most lawyers have a variety of superior skills in addition to their legal knowledge that can be applied to any role, such as analytic, negotiation, management, business, writing and presentation skills, as well as a strong work ethic."

"Employers, recruiters, entrepreneurs and start-ups now have a unique opportunity to reach a large pool of legal professionals who have the skills, knowledge and desire to assist them in in-house, law related or non-legal roles."

The website also has a Career Blog that posts news and articles helpful to lawyers seeking alternative careers.
