LEID Products, LLC., the leader in electronic locker, cabinet, and gun rack storage systems with built-in asset management and inventory control software, today announced the availability of a new Touchscreen Keypad for its Access.it brand electronic storage systems. The Touchscreen Keypad and optional card reader interfaces with LEID’s electronic access cabinets and lockers to control access of stored items, providing electronic tracking and reporting for inventory and asset management purposes. The addition of a touchscreen option for the keypad further enhances intuitive user-friendly features.
The Access.it System – developed for LEID Products by Patti Engineering – is a proven inventory control and asset management system used by law enforcement, government facilities, hospitals, libraries and commercial companies. Access control systems allow for authorized self-service pick-up and drop-off of items with electronic reporting, controlled through remote, web based management and monitoring software. The system is used for a wide range of applications. Examples include: used to store weapons, valuable equipment, and evidence in law enforcement applications; library materials for remote self-service pick-up branches established by Public Libraries; or cell phones in court houses.
In addition to Access.it Systems, LEID provides a cutting edge patented Biometric Access Control Systems (BACS) that identifies authorized users via fingerprint or hand geometry to control assets in high security applications. In March of 2012, the company released version 2.0 of the BACS ID Station Kiosk, which includes enhancements to its sleek tamper proof construction and larger kiosk screen for additional security and functionality.
Remote access is critical for LEID customers as it allows administrators the ability to control their systems from anywhere, at any time. The BACS ID Station Kiosk uses a biometric reader to grant authorized users access to precious assets and rejects unauthorized parties from accessing anything storied in the electronic cabinets. Individual users have strict settings, limiting access to only the items administrators have qualified them to use.
“We are excited to announce our latest advancement to our access control storage systems,” said David Foster, Vice President of Engineering, LEID Products, LLC. “The new Access.it Touchscreen gives customers the option of a sleeker interface. New functionalities also greatly improve the intuitive user-friendly experience we have worked for years to be able to provide.”
