Classic Christmas story gets new life

Change can happen for the better.

Armed with an array of questions about Charles Dickens’ timeless classic story “A Christmas Carol,” author Leonard Brideau set about answering those clues and wrapping up loose ends. His new book, “Scrooge's Story: A Christmas Carol Continues: Book One” (published by AuthorHouse), continues the familiar story and explores answers to the unanswered questions.

Brideau always wondered how Scrooge’s life changed after his experience with the three ghosts in the original story. Did he really change? His new book dives into his life after those events, exploring how Scrooge – and characters like Tiny Tim, Belle, Nephew Fred and Bob Cratchit – evolved over time.

An excerpt from “Scrooge's Story: A Christmas Carol Continues”:

“The smile on Ebenezer Scrooge’s face was no lie. It was as wide as a church door. Gone forever was the stern coldhearted frown that frightened small children and discouraged well-mannered adults from polite conversation. This Christmas night, his smiling countenance radiated an inner amiability and warmth.”

Brideau’s goals in writing “Scrooge's Story: A Christmas Carol Continues” are two-fold. “I want readers to take away a better appreciation of the full meaning of the original story and its immortal message to all readers,” he says. “Change can happen for the better.”
