SistersTalk Lesbian and Gay Radio Celebrates 1 Year, 100+ Episodes and 400,000 Downloads

On October 26, 2009, SistersTalk Radio will celebrate one year of providing political commentary, entertainment news and celebrity interviews for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. One year and 100+ episodes later, SistersTalk Radio boasts over 400,000 downloads and an impressive and diverse roster of celebrity guests.

Madison, WI (PRWEB) October 23, 2009 -- On Monday, October 26 at 7pm central, SistersTalk Radio will host a 2-hour anniversary episode, featuring the show's inaugural guest Felice Newman - author of The Whole Lesbian Sex Book. Other guests on this special lesbian podcast include Roxxie - webmistress at Cyber-Dyke.net, Claire Cavanah - cofounder of Babeland.com and Yolanda Shoshana - New York's hottest lifestyle coach and author.

"Our first anniversary episode will celebrate lesbian sexuality - just as our very first episode did a year ago," says Genia Stevens, SistersTalk Radio's producer and host.

Since its inaugural episode on October 26, 2008, SistersTalk Radio has welcomed celebrity guests like: comedians Kate Clinton, Suzanne Westenhoefer, Dana Goldberg and Karen Williams; actors Doug Spearman, Jesse Lewis IV and Janina Gavankar; Broadway stars Byron Nease (best known for his 30 year run on Phantom of the Opera) and Cortes Alexander; and musicians Melange Lavonne, Ellis, Juba Kalamka, Derek Nicoletto, Sarah Bettens and Erin McKeown.

"Our mission is to acknowledge and celebrate the diverse and often ignored segments of the LGBTQ community," says Stevens, "because we were tired of waiting for mainstream gay publications to do it for us."

SistersTalk Radio is powered by BlogTalkRadio.com, a robust online talk radio platform that allows anyone with internet access an opportunity to host a radio show. "The platform is very easy to use, especially for our two-person team," says Andrea Kleinheksel, SistersTalk Radio's assistant producer. "We don't need radio technicians and we don't need fancy audio equipment."

In one year, SistersTalk Radio has produced over 100 episodes, experienced over 400,000 downloads and secured partnership agreements with the popular international lesbian dating web site PinkSofa.com and the online lesbian magazine GoGetYourGirlOn.com.

"Partnering with popular lesbian web sites will serve to promote our brand and help us grow our audience worldwide," says Kleinheksel.
