The Professional Protector Plan for Dentists contributions to the Missions of Mercy will consist of donations, volunteerism, and sponsorship.
Amanda McGuire, Underwriter for the Professional Protector Plan shares her involvement in previous MOM events, “The feeling of being a part of something that literally changed so many lives is very hard to put into words. I’m very blessed to have been a part of such an awesome event and to work with an amazing group of people. It is an experience that I will never forget.”
The Iowa Dental Association is coming together with Missions of Mercy to hold a free, two-day, dental clinic for children and adults in Iowa who need dental services regardless of income or dental history. The clinic provides services ranging from preventative dentistry and cleanings, to restorative fillings and extractions. This years' clinic will be held on October 5 - 6 at the River Center in Davenport. The event begins at 6:00 am and will close once the daily capacity has been reached. Patients are served on a first come first serve basis. More information about the event can be found online at Iowa Dental Association website.
The Professional Protector Plan® for Dentists has been involved in three other MOM events this year and will also contribute their time at the Phoenix, AZ MOM on December 7 – 8 as well as at several planned events for 2013.
Dental Missions of Mercy events have donated dental services to indigent patients for over a decade. The first dental MOM was held in Virginia, July 2000. MOM events are now held in 17 states and are usually sponsored by state or local dental societies. Over the course of its history, 100,000+ patients have been treated, and over $50 million of donated dental services have been provided by caring dental professionals.
