The Professional Protector Plan® for Dentists has been involved in three other MOM events this year including those held in Iowa, Nebraska, and Wisconsin. PPP will also contribute their time at several planned Mission of Mercy events for 2013.
Robyn Renner, Executive Assistant for the Professional Protector Plan, has volunteered her time at several of the MOM events. “Participating in a Mission of Mercy (MOM) event as a volunteer is truly a rewarding experience. The need for dental care today is overwhelming and by attending these events you, as a volunteer, may help alleviate the self-consciousness and discomfort of the patients who wait in line for hours to receive treatment. The patients leave the events feeling so much better about themselves and you know you were part of something life changing for some of them.”
The Central Arizona Dental Society will be hosting the Missions of Mercy and it will be held at the Arizona State Fairground on December 7-8, 2012. This event provides free services to children and adults who are in need of dental care. Dental screenings and services are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. Approximately $1,000,000 in free care is expected to be delivered to 2,000 patients. For more information about the event, visit America's Dentists Care Foundation Missions of Mercy.
Dental Missions of Mercy events have donated dental services to indigent patients for over a decade. The first dental MOM was held in Virginia, July 2000. MOM events are now held in 17 states and are usually sponsored by state or local dental societies. Over the course of its history, 100,000+ patients have been treated, and over $50 million of donated dental services have been provided by caring dental professionals.
