A significant portion of our enterprise sales are to government agencies at the federal, state, and local levels
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) December 6, 2006
Lieberman Software Corporation today announced that the City of Burbank purchased the company's Service Account Manager™ and Random Password Manager Enterprise Edition™ products following an extensive evaluation. The City licensed the Lieberman Software solutions for use on Windows servers deployed throughout its multi-site enterprise.
These tools will help the City of Burbank maintain a reliable and secure IT infrastructure. The City will use the products for proactive administrator password management, secure system lockdown, and network intrusion remediation.
"I needed a solution for resetting critical passwords without having to physically visit every server and manually updating the password," said Scott Moore, a network analyst with the City of Burbank. "With Service Account Manager I can quickly deploy an administrator account change to every server in the network from a centralized location. It also enables me to prevent unauthorized access into the network via a compromised administrator password."
Service Account Manager is a remote services management solution that accesses, analyzes, and modifies Windows service properties on all managed systems throughout the enterprise. It provides a consolidated view of every service running on every system in the network, allowing administrators to quickly update service credentials and run dynamic dependency analysis for multiple systems. Random Password Manager Enterprise Edition automatically randomizes local administrator passwords on accounts throughout the enterprise, and enables authorized users to securely recover the password for their own systems via a web browser when necessary. Both products can concurrently manage thousands of systems throughout the enterprise from a single console, without requiring agents to be deployed to clients.
According to Moore, the City of Burbank evaluated these products and purchased them based on ease of deployment, central administration capabilities, and comprehensive account management functionality.
"About a week into the evaluation I realized that we were going to need these tools," he said. "I perceived how simple it was to access every service running on each machine and view which services were running under which accounts. That allowed me to reduce the number of non-user accounts I had, and more efficiently manage my administrator passwords and lock down my systems. This was the precise capability that we required."
The City of Burbank, a prominent media and entertainment-oriented city, provides municipal services to more than 100,000 residents. It's located in the eastern part of the San Fernando Valley, in Los Angeles County. The City's IT staff is responsible for maintaining the computer infrastructure for government offices at nearly 20 dispersed sites.
"A significant portion of our enterprise sales are to government agencies at the federal, state, and local levels," said Philip Lieberman, president of Lieberman Software. "This is due to the ability of our products to conduct critical password and account management operations on thousands of systems simultaneously."
