“The Personal ROSHI was spawned out of the many hours of lectures of the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and his Quantum Physics minions, from their TV programs and desire to know and understand what Meditation really is; as my inability to do and hold and maintain a Mantra led to some very depressed states of mind. The more that they spoke of the Glories and Attributes of Meditation, the more depressed I got. Having been an erstwhile radio amateur and had spent many years in aerospace, working on various communications systems, it came to me that the brain must work the same way; a highly parallel communication device mediated by a brain operator; an oversimplification of course, but it worked! Then came the tough part: What is a Mantra? How do I simulate a signal onto which the brain will inexorably lock? (Engineers just love doing simulations.) During my time with Master Hershel Toomim, I was studying the various light and sound devices, after having first experienced the Dr. Denis Gorges' Syncro-Energizer, in Dr. Toomim's office, in 1987. After experiencing and studying just about every light and sound device onto which I could find, none had the 'lasting' neurological responses that one might expect from such a device. Their effects were too temporary to suit to suit me. They all felt good, but produced almost no measurable or meaningful effects or results, in any peer-reviewed measure that I could see, nor were they reproducible nor repeatable.
