"International construction projects are a challenge but I love to do them", said Anita Turner, customer care manager for LightingShowroom.com. She added, "I particularly like projects in Australia and New Zealand. We have fewer issues in those markets than we sometimes see in other parts of the world so the projects are fun. This is the first time we have worked in Nelson so we look forward to the project."
The Hinkley Plantation Collection is finished in burnished brass with hand-blown clear optic glass with ivory silk shades. The collection features decorative cast detailing and pineapple shaped center glass. The pineapple has served as a symbol of hospitality and warm welcome through the history of the Americas. In colonial America, hostesses would set a fresh pineapple in the center of their dining table when visitors joined their families in their homes. Visiting was the primary means of entertainment and cultural exchange, so the concept of hospitality was a central element in colonial life. The pineapple came to symbolize the warmest welcome a hostess could extend to her guests and is the theme which defines the Nelson project.
Nelson, New Zealand is on the eastern shores of Tasman Bay, and is the economic and cultural center of the Nelson-Tasman region. Established in 1841, it is the second oldest settled city in New Zealand and the oldest in the South Island. Nelson received its name in honor of the Admiral Horatio Nelson who defeated both the French and Spanish fleets at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. Many of the roads and public areas around the city are named after people and ships associated with that battle. Together with the town of Richmond, the Nelson Urban Area has a population of around 60,000 ranking it as New Zealand’s 9th most populous city and the geographical center of New Zealand. The Nelson economy is based on the ‘big four’ industries; seafood, horticulture, tourism and forestry. Port Nelson is the biggest fishing port in Australasia. There are also a range of growth industries, including arts and crafts, aviation, engineering technology, and information technology.

Hinkley Lighting is one of our foundational suppliers which allows us to focus on meeting the customer's needs and supporting high end domestic and international projects with confidence."
Wickowski explained, "The foundation of our business is customer care. We offer good value in our pricing, but attention to detail, meeting the customer needs, and working hard to anticipate and prevent problems is really what we are about. Value is the combination of quality products, fair pricing, and best in class customer care. Those are the things we work on all the time." She commented that, "There are a lot of websites that offer lighting products. Many approach the market with the idea that all you have to do is have the lowest price. We have found that our focus on the entire customer experience brings us loyal repeat customers and great word of mouth support."
