SmartWatt Energy is pleased to announce that Brian Ely has joined the company as a Project Developer. He will be based out of SmartWatt Energy’s recently opened office in Richmond, VA.

In response to an increased demand for large-scale energy-efficiency upgrade projects for regional and national refrigerated and freezer warehouse, food processing, manufacturing and distribution customers on the East Coast, the company has opened a new office and added staff.
Brian most recently worked as an Energy Services Specialist for Mayer Electric Supply in Richmond, VA where he worked with commercial customers to upgrade to energy-efficient lighting technologies. He was responsible for conducting energy audits, developing lighting layouts and energy saving estimation and for end-user training. In this role, Brian served as the sole lighting and energy consultant to all of the company’s customer and employees and successfully helped the company develop its presence throughout the Virginia market. Prior to that position, Brian was a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, serving as an Avionics Systems Technician on CH-46 helicopter, while on active duty in Iraq. As Project Developer for SmartWatt Energy, Brian will be in charge of developing new business opportunities, in addition to design and engineering of energy-efficient LED and fluorescent lighting upgrade projects for commercial and industrial customers in Virginia.
