Historic Gettysburg, Pa. will become the setting for a group of 55 individuals embarking on a journey toward experiential leadership development, Nov. 18-20, during “Celebrating Lincoln: A Journey into Transformational Communication.” This exclusive leadership development experience will encompass powerful case studies delivered by renowned Lincoln scholars, a Dedication Day keynote speech by filmmaker Steven Spielberg, a private viewing of the critically acclaimed “Lincoln” film and an opportunity to go behind the scenes of history with Gettysburg’s Cyclorama painting.
Steven B. Wiley and The Lincoln Leadership Institute at Gettysburg developed “Celebrating Lincoln” as a once-in-a-career opportunity for business professionals to explore powerful and effective communication strategies through an in-depth study of the persona of President Abraham Lincoln. The Lincoln Leadership Institute will welcome over 50 business leaders, all from Fortune 100 companies.
Renowned Lincoln scholars Harold Holzer, Matt Pinsker, Jim Getty and Jared Peatman will deliver compelling case studies focusing on Lincoln’s leadership skills and communication strategies throughout the three-day experience. In addition, participants will have an exclusive opportunity to hear award-winning filmmaker Steven Spielberg deliver the keynote address during the Dedication Day ceremonies on Monday, Nov. 19 and participate in a private screening of Spielberg’s critically acclaimed film “Lincoln.” Finally, attendees will enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of Gettysburg’s colossal Cyclorama painting at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center.
“As we commemorate the 149th anniversary of President Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address in Gettysburg, we at The Lincoln Leadership Institute could not be more pleased to offer this engaging and highly impactful ‘Celebrating Lincoln’ experience to our distinguished guests during this special occasion,” said Steven B. Wiley, founder and president of The Lincoln Leadership Institute.
“As Gettysburg prepares to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg next year, it is our hope that our guests will come away from this experience with a deeper understanding of Lincoln’s impact as a leader and will begin to incorporate the powerful communication strategies we present into their professional and personal lives,” said Angela Sontheimer, managing director of The Lincoln Leadership Institute at Gettysburg.
