World’s Largest Location Based LinkedIn Group Launches New Website

Linked N Chicago (LiNC) is the world’s largest location based LinkedIn group, boasting 69,000 members and growing at 400 or more members each week. LiNC has been connecting Chicagoans online and in the real world for five years and has remained committed to providing professionals in Chicago with fun and useful networking events and resources.

As LiNC has exploded in size, resources have become increasingly difficult to locate on the group page. Members often mention that it is challenging to quickly access information regarding Chicago event locations and promotions. While discussions on the LiNC group page are lively and interactive, a navigable centralized hub of information is lacking.

To create a better experience for LiNC members, founder Mary McFarlin decided to extend the group to a new website dedicated to disbursing events, promotions, tips, and resources. The website is located at

Linked N Chicago teamed up with Chicago website development agency, BlueBolt Solutions, to build a content-centric website for the world’s largest LinkedIn group.

“BlueBolt was very excited to take on the challenge of the Linked 'N Chicago website in order to show how rapidly we could deploy a full-featured membership organization website. In just a couple of weeks we were able to produce an original design and build a site with robust capabilities for displaying events, galleries, videos, and more,” said Jason Lichon, Found Partner BlueBolt Solutions.

BlueBolt Solutions built the website on the DotNetNuke (DNN) content management platform with the PackFlash Constellation Module Suite, making publishing and managing content such as blog posts, videos, images and event calendars incredibly easy.

The homepage features a calendar of upcoming Chicago events, making it easy for visitors to access the information needed most. A deal of the day is featured alongside image galleries, video galleries, and blog posts, providing discounts, promotions, and valuable resources for members and visitors alike. The BlueBolt Solutions “Digital Marketing Tip of the Week” will be featured on the homepage, offering a new piece of marketing advice each week. Linked N Chicago members can easily navigate through the events calendar, blog posts, image and video galleries, sponsors, deals and contact information on the top navigation bar that intuitively guides visitors through the website content.
