"IBM i shops are under increasing pressure to protect their sensitive data and get compliant. With Crypto Complete, these customers can easily encrypt this data without spending a lot of money.” -- Bob Luebbe, Chief Architect, Linoma Software

Linoma Software announces the general availability of version 3.0 of Crypto Complete™, the company’s widely installed encryption software for IBM i. In addition to several new and expanded encryption management capabilities, the company has significantly restructured its licensing terms, resulting in savings of up to 50% for new customers.
Since 2007, Crypto Complete has been a trusted solution for encrypting data at all levels, from field encryption to backup and IFS encryption, helping organizations meet compliance requirements with PCI DSS, HIPAA / HITECH, GLBA, Sarbanes-Oxley and state privacy regulations.
"IBM i shops are under increasing pressure to protect their sensitive data and get compliant," said Bob Luebbe, Chief Architect at Linoma Software. "With Crypto Complete, these customers can easily encrypt this data without spending a lot of money.”
Crypto Complete 3.0 provides several enhancements including the ability to activate up to 25 fields at a time for encryption, the ability to encrypt/save up to 600 libraries at a time, as well as enhancements to the tokenization processes for encrypting/storing data from other systems.
A significant change to the release is a new licensing model that allows the product’s backup encryption or field encryption capabilities to be licensed separately. This means customers can save money by only licensing the features they need.
Those who license the Field Encryption feature will have access to Crypto Complete’s innovative field encryption registry, tokenization capabilities, APIs and functions. For customers on V7R1, the field encryption features of Crypto Complete provide full support for DB2 field procedures, including fully automatic encryption and decryption of field values. This allows customers to implement encryption quickly without changing their applications.
Those who buy the Backup Encryption License will be able to apply strong AES256 encryption for backups and IFS files, protecting data using either strong passphrases or symmetric Keys. Key labels can be stored with encrypted backups to make restores even easier.
Not only does Crypto Complete save disk space and time by not generating intermediate save files, it allows companies to save and restore from existing tape drives with no additional hardware required. Customers will also be able to encrypt and restore targeted libraries and objects, with support for wildcards.
Finally, Crypto Complete 3.0 makes backup convenient by incorporating backup commands into existing processes such as CL programs, BRMS, and schedulers.
Pricing for the backup encryption feature starts at $1,995 for an IBM i P05 processor group, which is a 50% savings over earlier pricing for the complete product. With Crypto Complete 3.0, Linoma is also introducing a discounted bundled pricing option for customers that purchase both the field and backup encryption features.
No matter which features are purchased, customers will be able to meet stringent compliance requirements, including strong key management, policy settings, security controls, email and message alerts. Detailed audit trails are also included with informative reports.
