We are extremely proud that Rob has again been recognized by Best Lawyers for his outstanding work. This honor truly highlights his value to the firm’s clients, our practice, and to the legal community as a whole.

Robert M. Wolff, a shareholder and co-chair of the Healthcare Practice at Littler Mendelson, P.C. (Littler), the nation’s largest employment and labor law firm representing management, has been named by Best Lawyers as the publication’s 2012 “Lawyer of the Year” in the Employment Law – Management category in the Cleveland market. Only a single lawyer in each specialty in each community was honored as a Lawyer of the Year. Best Lawyers is the oldest and most respected peer review publication in the legal profession.

“We are extremely proud that Rob has again been recognized by Best Lawyers for his outstanding work,” said Sue Marie Douglas, office managing shareholder of Littler’s Cleveland office. “This honor truly highlights his value to the firm’s clients, our practice, and to the legal community as a whole.”

Wolff is a seasoned civil trial attorney with more than 30 years of experience and has represented companies both large and small in the healthcare, energy, transportation, financial and retail industries in issues arising in the increasingly complex world of employment and trade secret litigation. He has handled numerous labor arbitrations and more than 50 jury trials involving matters such as wrongful death; age, race, disability and sexual discrimination; commercial and various major civil rights class actions; and wage and hour class actions.

Best Lawyers has recognized Mr. Wolff every year consecutively since 2005. He has also been recognized by Human Resource Executive/Lawdragon (2010 & 2011) as one of the “100 Most Powerful Labor and Employment Attorneys;” by Chambers USA Directory and Client Guide (2004–2011); and by Ohio Super Lawyers as one of Ohio’s Top 100 Lawyers – All Specialties (2009 – present); among others.

After more than a quarter of a century in publication, Best Lawyers is designating “Lawyers of the Year” in high-profile legal specialties in large legal communities. The lawyers being honored as “Lawyers of the Year” have received particularly high ratings by earning a high level of respect among their peers for their abilities, professionalism, and integrity. Best Lawyers compiles its lists of outstanding attorneys by conducting exhaustive peer-review surveys in which thousands of leading lawyers confidentially evaluate their professional peers. The current, 18th edition of The Best Lawyers in America (2012) is based on more than 3.9 million detailed evaluations of lawyers by other lawyers.

Because Best Lawyers is based on an exhaustive peer-review survey in which more than 32,000 leading attorneys cast almost two million votes on the legal abilities of other lawyers in their practice areas, and because lawyers are not required or allowed to pay a fee to be listed, inclusion in Best Lawyers is considered a singular honor. Corporate Counsel magazine has called Best Lawyers "the most respected referral list of attorneys in practice."
