Provo, UT (Vocus) April 8, 2010
Paragon Wealth Management, a registered investment firm, is hosting their first annual 5K Run/Walk on May 15 at 9:00 a.m. at Exchange Park in Provo to raise money for a scholarship for single mothers.
“The scholarship was inspired by my daughter,” said Dave Young, President of Paragon. “Her husband passed away in 2005. She wanted to provide for herself and three-month-old daughter by going to college to get her bachelor’s degree. We want to give women in similar situations, whether they are widowed or divorced, an opportunity to attend college.”
The race will begin and end at Exchange Park (900 N. 700 W.) in Provo. The course is along the Provo River Trail. Participants will pass two bridges and three tunnels along the way.
Participants can register online on Paragon’s website, http://www.paragonwealth.com/registration5k.php. It is $15 before May 1, and $20 after. They can pick up their materials the day before at Paragon’s office in Provo, 3651 N. 100 E., Suite 275, or they can collect them the day of the race beginning at 8:15 a.m. at Exchange Park.
“We are excited for this race,” said Elizabeth Michalek, Paragon’s Director of Client Services. “It’s a great opportunity to get involved and help our community. It feels good knowing that we can all come together to help mothers further their education and better the future of their families.”
There will also be volleyball, food, a playground and prizes at the end of the race. Paragon encourages community members to come and enjoy the event.
