Leading BPM suite vendor expands executive team to support global growth.

I am very excited these leaders came from within Lombardi.

Lombardi®, a leader in business process management (BPM) software, today announced the creation of its Global Business Solutions group, which combines the Lombardi Products Group and Global Services and Support organizations into one operating unit. Effective immediately, Phil Gilbert has been appointed president of Lombardi, and will have operational responsibility for the newly formed organization. Mr. Gilbert was formerly Lombardi’s executive vice president of products and CTO.

Under Gilbert’s leadership, the Global Business Solutions group’s mission is to define and deliver all of Lombardi’s customer-focused process solutions to help the company capitalize on its leadership position in the market and the global BPM opportunity. These solutions include Lombardi’s award-winning BPM platforms (Teamworks® and Blueprint™), BPM solutions and professional services offerings.

“Our customers view Lombardi as a strategic partner because we help them solve their process problems with innovative solutions. Independent experts regularly recognize Lombardi as the leader in the BPM industry with respect to customer success,” said Rod Favaron, CEO of Lombardi. “This organization change, along with Phil’s customer-focused leadership, will make us even more effective in delivering customer value.”

To support Lombardi’s expanding global sales and support ecosystem, the company also announced changes to its international leadership team. Greg Pope, who successfully launched the European business unit in 2005, will focus on two strategic projects for the company. Pope will start up operations for Lombardi in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as take on the responsibilities of Executive Sponsor for Lombardi’s Global Customers, such as the Allianz Group.

With strong sales growth and customer adoption in 2007, the company is poised to grow rapidly in Europe. Alan Godfrey has been appointed as the new executive vice president and general manager to lead Lombardi’s European business unit. Godfrey has worked at Lombardi for five years and most recently was the company’s executive vice president of marketing and business development. He will be based in Lombardi’s EMEA headquarters located in London.

The company also announced three new vice president appointments from within its ranks today:

  •     Peter Morris has been promoted to the position of vice president of European Sales, based in Lombardi’s EMEA headquarters located in London. Morris joined Lombardi in early 2007 as the sales director for the UK.
  •     Jim Rudden has been promoted to the position of vice president of Global Marketing, based in Lombardi’s global headquarters located in Austin, Texas. Rudden has been with Lombardi for over four years and most recently led the company’s product marketing team.
  •     Rainer Ribback has been promoted to the position of vice president of BPM Delivery, based in Austin, Texas. Ribback has been with Lombardi for 5 years and his most recent responsibilities for the company were as a Regional Director in the global services team.

“Building a great company starts with building a great leadership team.” said Rod Favaron, chief executive officer at Lombardi. “I am very excited these leaders came from within Lombardi.”
