Long Island, NY (PRWEB) November 29, 2012
LongIslandExchange.com, a web site which serves the Long Island community specifically, has announced the release of an online events calendar which is free for the general public to use in order to add listings for local happenings on and around Long Island New York.
“In an effort to consolidate all of Long Island’s events in one place, we’ve designed the events calendar to allow simple additions, with quick administrator approvals and a dedicated staff editor,” said John Colascione, Founder and Managing Partner of LongIslandExchange.com. “It’s necessary that we require an approval process for events and dedicate a specific person to oversee and maintain the events to protect the quality and reliability of the listings. We are working to have listings approved as quickly as possible, which is usually within just a few hours,” he added.

The events section is a simple yet necessary addition to the service to allow Long Island’s 7M+ residents to quickly and easily find out what’s happening on Long Island. The public is welcome to use the calendar for anything and everything happening on a particular day, or group of days, for recurring and onetime events including local bands, performances, music and entertainment shows, workshops, etc.
The events calendar will be changed, modified and improved over time based on user feedback and suggestions. "We're hoping residents will take advantage of this new addition to our site and service to help improve turn-out at local events while also creating a reliable place to find things to do and people to do them with."
