Frontier Pak Dissolves Quickly and is Safe for the Environment
Norway, Iowa (Vocus/PRWEB ) October 16, 2008 -- Frontier Natural Products Co-op™, a leading U.S. manufacturer and marketer of natural and organic products, announced today that it will begin using earth-friendly packing material in all product shipments, effective November 1. The company, which has a long tradition of environmental and social responsibility, is pleased to have sourced a starch-based, loose-fill packing product that is 100 percent biodegradable, per American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) D-6400-99 standards recognized in Europe and the United States.

John R. Cull, manager of distribution for Frontier, stated, "As volume grows with our increase in sales, it was imperative for us to find the most environmentally-friendly packing material." The new Frontier Pak product will cushion shipments as well as the expanded polystyrene (EPS) loose-fill product they replace.
Consumers and businesses who receive packages containing the static-free Frontier Pak may re-use them or dispose of them by dissolving them with water or placing them in a compost pile. Bill Thomasson, manager of Frontier Direct™, the distribution business unit of Frontier Natural Products Co-op, added, "They're water soluble, so they go back into the soil, not into landfills."
As a result of Frontier's commitment to renewable energy, the company has qualified to join the United States Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Green Power Partnership Program (http://www.epa.gov/greenpower/).
