Loud Is Relative, a user-ran, community-based, concert promotion website, announces the public launch of their website, http://www.loudisrelative.com. Loud Is Relative is an easy to use, user-run database of concerts, artists, and venues throughout the country. The everyday user, has complete control of the site, and has the ability to add their favorite bands, shows they’re attending, venues they've been to, comment on a concerts, find shows their friends are going to, and even setup mobile alerts to tell them when someone is coming to their town, just to name a few things…
How We Got Loud…
Loud Is Relative started as the brain-child of two friends (Justin and Lee). They decided to break away from the typical corporate forty-hour-a-week lifestyle that most twentysomethings “enjoy” and do something they truly love. What is that something you ask? Actually it’s two things, working in the music industry and working for themselves.
With only knowing each other for a couple months after a candid meeting at a party on the rooftop deck of the building they both lived in, they decided to make their dreams a reality by forming Loud Is Relative. After many discussions, a couple entire-site-overhauls, and plenty of revisions, they finally came to the site accessible today. It may not have every bell and whistle imaginable, but it is a site dedicated to easily hooking music-lovers up with the concerts they want to see. Not to mention some cool features like mobile alerts, reviews, and a list of your friends that are going to the same shows.
Justin – Co-Founder
Justin was born and grew up in San Diego, CA; went to a crappy local college and set off to work as an engineer in the Medical, Market Research, and Auto Industries. Justin currently lives in Portland, OR. If you’d like to awkwardly confront Justin, your best bet is The Roseland Theatre where Justin spends his nights singing along off key. Justin also hosts the Portland PHP Meetup (http://php.meetup.com/342/) where geeks from miles around gather to talk shop.
Lee – Co-Founder
Lee was born and raised in the heart of the Midwest, graduated from Indiana University, and took a couple corporate jobs. After sitting behind a desk in Indiana for a couple years, he decided there was more to life and packed only the belongings he could fit in his car, said goodbye to his family and friends, and moved 2,500 miles away. He is now a resident of San Diego, lives near the beach, and loves catching local shows at the many dive bars throughout “America’s Finest City.”
So now that you know us, we want to know you. So go to shows, support your local music scene, tell us what you think, never listen to the critics, and most importantly… be loud!
