LPB Energy Management, a leading provider of integrated energy management services, announced today that the Honorable Will Wynn, who joined the LPB executive team in March, 2009, will participate on a panel discussion titled State and Local Collaboration: Enabling a Recipe for Success at the GridWeek 2009 Conference.

LPB Energy Management (LPB), a leading provider of integrated energy management services, announced today that the Honorable Will Wynn, who joined the LPB executive team in March, 2009, will participate on a panel discussion titled State and Local Collaboration: Enabling a Recipe for Success at the GridWeek 2009 Conference. The session will be held on Tuesday, September 22, at 10:30am at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C.

During this session, Wynn will present his experience with recent smart grid demonstration projects that have provided valuable insight into the impact of state and local collaborative efforts on project outcomes and the importance of information flow and data management.

Wynn served as two-term mayor of Austin, Texas from 2003-2009 as well as Chairman of the Board of Austin Energy, the 9th largest public power utility in the United States. Under Wynn's leadership, Austin Energy nationally promoted plug-in hybrid electric cars, pushed for dramatic upgrades to the International Energy Conservation Code, and announced its smart grid initiative - the Pecan Street Project. During this time, Austin Energy also created its city-wide climate protection program, which has been touted as the country's most aggressive municipal initiative aimed at reducing greenhouse gases.

Wynn continues to share his passion for energy management and environmental sustainability through his leadership role at LPB.
