We are honored to have Will Wynn join our leadership team at LPB
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) March 12, 2009
LPB Energy Management announced today that The Honorable Will Wynn has joined its executive team. In this leadership role, Wynn will assist in LPB's nationwide outreach to the public and private sector on the economic and sustainability benefits of LPB's Energy Management Program.
Wynn has served as mayor of Austin, Texas since 2003 and brings to LPB deep credentials in energy policy and efficiency matters. He chairs the U.S. Conference of Mayors Energy Committee and has authored or co-authored several high profile resolutions including: a significant upgrade of the International Energy Conservation Code, federal legislation to regulate greenhouse gas emissions, federal tax credits for renewable energy and energy efficient block grants for local communities.
He is also Chairman of the Board of Austin Energy, the ninth largest public power utility in the United States. In this capacity Wynn presides over the nation's most successful utility-sponsored green power program (for the fourth consecutive year according to the U.S. Department of Energy), its innovative energy efficiency program that eliminated the need for a 500-megawatt coal-burning power plant near Austin and a revolutionary "greenbuilding" program that helped serve as the genesis for the U.S. Green Building Council and its Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification process. In addition to providing expert testimony to the U.S. Congress, Wynn is a sought-after speaker and subject matter expert on energy efficiency and sustainability issues. Prior to his public service career, Wynn had a successful career in commercial real estate development.
Wynn's appointment provides a new layer of depth to LPB's core mission in helping clients measure, report and reduce energy costs and usage, improving their bottom line and environmental sustainability.
"We are honored to have Will Wynn join our leadership team at LPB," said Matthew Berke, founder and president of LPB Energy Management. "Will has been hailed by political and environmental leaders as a critical voice in forming energy policy. LPB will benefit greatly from his experience and insight."
"I am excited to join such an innovative and growing company," said Wynn. "LPB embraces my passion for cost effective sustainability. Their data-centric approach of leveraging monthly utility bill and meter data establishes not only a baseline from which to judge energy management program success, but also the keys to reduce future energy cost and consumption."
Mr. Wynn earned a degree in Environmental Design from Texas A&M University, where the College of Architecture named him a Distinguished Alumnus.
