EJL Wireless Research Adds the Ericsson LTE RRUS 11 700MHz Remote Radio Unit to Its DesigN Analysis Infrastructure (DNA-I) Series of Teardown Reports

The 700MHz spectrum has been critically important in allowing US mobile operators to deploy their LTE networks. The recent resolution between the FCC and AT&T Wireless will allow for coexistence of Band 12 and Band 17 solutions.

The RRUS11 platform supports up to four 5MHz carriers or a maximum of 20MHz of instantaneous bandwidth (IBW).

EJL Wireless Research is announcing a new report within its proprietary DNA-I series, an Ericsson LTE 700MHz B12 80W RRUS 11 unit.

“This is our second opportunity to look into the 2x2 MIMO design philosophy for Ericsson’s latest generation remote radio unit and has allowed us to see design changes between a high frequency band vs. a low frequency band unit. The RRUS 11 contains two complete radio transceivers, two power amplifiers and two duplexer filters to support 2x2 MIMO functionality. The RRUS 11 is part of the RBS6601 Main/Remote BTS system and is the multi-standard radio architecture version of Ericsson's remote radio units that supports GSM, CDMA, W-CDMA and LTE technologies,” said founder and President, Earl Lum.

“The LTE Band 12 unit supports the A, B, and C Blocks of spectrum within the lower 700MHz frequency band in North America. Band 12 spectrum supports mobile operators including US Cellular.
